MEET OUR TEACHERS

We currently have a team of around 30 experienced teachers, many of whom have been teaching at the school for several years. Our teaching method is engaging and dynamic. All our teachers are experienced native speakers, qualified in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Many of our teachers also contribute to the school’s on-going, internal support and training.

Agus Guerrero

¡Hola! I am Agus, and I come from a small town called Torrella, a few miles away from València. I hold a degree in Journalism from the University of Elx and a Master’s in Cinema from the Pompeu Fabra University of Barcelona.   Right after landing in London back in 2015, I qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language.   It ignited a real passion for teaching, which evolved into a career that allows me to have great fun sharing the language with people of diverse ages and cultures worldwide.   Vamos is my next stop for this exciting journey, and I can’t wait to teach you all!

¡Hola! My name is Alba and I come from Valencia! I hold a degree in Spanish Studies (Universitat de València) and two teaching Masters': Spanish as a Foreign Language at Universitat de Barcelona and Spanish Language for Secondary Education at Universitat Internacional de Valencia.  I am an enthusiastic and inspiring language teacher who loves sharing her passion about the Spanish language and our culture. Teaching languages is a beautiful job because it works towards building bridges between people and cultures. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing my students getting to know each other through Spanish and gaining the confidence to communicate in the language and learn about Spanish and Latin American culture. ¡Hasta pronto!

¡Hola! I’m Alberto from Burgos, in the north of Spain. I studied at Complutense University of Madrid where I obtained a Degree in English Language and Literature and a Masters Degree in Teaching Spanish as a foreign language. I follow the communicative approach in my lessons, creating a relaxing and friendly environment in class where everyone feels comfortable and eager to participate and interact with each other. Teaching my native language is an amazing experience that gives me the chance to meet people from all over the world and share the Spanish language and culture with them. Hola, chicos! ¿Cómo estáis? I am Ana from Los Molinos, a town near Madrid! I have a degree in Spanish Language and Literature and a Master’s degree in teaching and I obtained them both at the Complutense University in Madrid. I am also an official DELE examiner for B1, B2, C1 and C2 levels, but it is important for you to know that teaching Spanish is not only my work but my passion as well. I love to see the evolution of my students from the very basics of saying ‘hola’ to having fluent conversations in Spanish - and by involving the Spanish culture and spirit, I am inviting you all to join me for an exciting journey called ‘aprender español’.¡Vamos!

Mi nombre es Ana Valencia and I am from a little town called Cádiz, in the south of Spain. I am a qualified teacher who has been living in London since 2014. I hold a degree in primary education, teaching English as a foreign language, and currently, I am also studying a master´s degree in Spanish as a Foreign Language at Camilo José Cela University, Madrid. I have many years of teaching experience and relish the opportunity to interact with my students. As you can imagine, I am deeply passionate about education and especially, the teaching of foreign languages. I feel incredibly lucky to be able to share the knowledge and love for my language and culture with my students. I strive to create a positive and inspiring learning environment where everyone feels motivated, confident and supported in their language learning journey. Andrea Cortina

¡Hola! I’m Andrea from Bilbao, in the north of Spain! I have a 4-year degree in Spanish Studies from the University of Deusto, which covered linguistics, literature, grammar and the history of the Spanish language and I later qualified as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language. I am an official DELE examiner (awarded by Institute Cervantes, London) for levels A1 to C2. Since joining Vamos in September 2012, I became part of the academic department where my responsibilities included the recruitment and training of new teachers. I am now the school's Director of Studies. My teaching style places particular emphasis on the communicative approach and I always want my students to get the most out of their lesson. I love teaching so much that it hardly feels like a job and so I hope you too enjoy your course at ¡Vamos!

I have a background in engineering, but my true passion is teaching Spanish, in which I have more than six years’ experience teaching students from all over the world. My teaching method is dynamic and motivating and I focus on creating an engaging environment where my students can build confidence and enjoy the learning process. Betty Cofre

¡Hola! I’m Betty and I come from Quito, Ecuador! I hold a PGCE in Education Science with a Minor in English and a Master’s in Pedagogy of English as a Foreign Language. I am also currently enhancing my skills with an MSc in International Project Management. I am a bilingual teacher with over 15 years of experience, and I have a true passion for teaching Spanish to learners from all over the world. I have taught students of all ages and levels, from one-to-one lessons for university students and medical professionals to group classes for international volunteers. My goal is to create a dynamic, inclusive, and student-centred environment where everyone feels motivated to learn and communicate. I love sharing not only the language but also the rich culture of Latin America, and I often bring this into the classroom through engaging activities and materials. Carla Arnaldes

іHola! I am Carla from Madrid. I have a Degree in Spanish awarded by the Complutense University of Madrid, a Master’s Degree in Spanish Language and a QTS in the UK. I am also qualified as a DELE B1/B2 examiner at the “Instituto Cervantes”. For me, learning a language has always meant much more than just speaking. It has meant travel, working abroad and meeting new people and new cultures. It has broadened my knowledge and allowed me to discover different parts of the world. I was a Spanish teacher for 3 years in Spain and the USA before moving to London in 2017 where I have been an MFL teacher at a secondary school in addition to teaching adults at Vamos. Since July 2020 I have led a team of Vamos teachers in creating our Young Learners course materials, a big project which has required the very best from the school. Teaching is an amazing and rewarding experience and Vamos is the perfect place to do so!

¡Hola! My name is Cristina and I am from sunny Alicante. I am a fully qualified Spanish teacher with QTS, a Master’s in Secondary Education and a Master’s in Teaching Spanish and English as a Foreign Language. I have a strong academic background in languages and several years of teaching experience in both Spain and the UK. My training and classroom experience allow me to guide adult learners with clarity, structure and confidence at every stage of their learning. I truly enjoy helping my students grow in confidence and seeing how their Spanish develops step by step, from simple conversations to expressing themselves naturally. My classes are engaging, supportive and motivating, with a warm approach that encourages my students to participate, feel at ease and enjoy the process while making real progress. іHola a todos! I am Cristina from Madrid! I started teaching when I was 17 and loved it so much I haven’t done much else since! Everything that followed has focused my career on this path. I have a degree in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language and one in Linguistics and Literature. I also have a certificate in Teaching Spanish to Adults from Instituto Cervantes and Roehampton University and QTS in the UK. I believe learning a language should be fun and useful, which is what I try to convey in my lessons and why I like to bring tasks from the real world into my class. That’s me! ¡Hola! My name is David from Zaragoza, a mid-sized city in North East Spain. I am a Philosophy graduate from the University of Zaragoza, and I have a SIELE Teacher Course Certificate from Instituto Cervantes. I spent some years of my apprenticeship in Oxford and Budapest and became a teacher of Spanish as a second language three years ago, first in my hometown and now in London. In addition to Spanish language and culture, I am passionate about music, cinema, football and literature and I love to connect with my students and make our classes even more in engaging. I am a qualified teacher with a Certificate in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from International House and I also have a degree in Dramatic Arts and studies in English Literature and Linguistics. I love studying languages and learning new aspects of different cultures, and I hope I can help you in getting to know those of Spain. Hola a todos My name is Elisabet and I am from Almería, in the sunny southeast coast of Spain. I have a degree in Spanish Language and Literature at University of Almería and a MA in Teaching Spanish as a foreign language at University of Granada. I have a passion for teaching and I love learning about different cultures. That's why I have lived in Germany, Netherlands and Romania, whilst teaching Spanish to adults, children and teenagers. My main goal is to make students feel comfortable in their learning process and to adapt to each student’s needs. Hola! I am Enric Sancho from Barcelona. I’ve always loved to study different languages and learn about other cultures, so 13 years ago I decided to make teaching Spanish my profession and I love it. I qualified as a teacher at International House London where I learnt about the communicative approach and I also qualified as a DELE A1/A2/B1/B2 examiner at Instituto Cervantes in London. I always aim to make my lessons interesting and enjoyable with cultural tips, so my students travelling to South America and Spain can communicate with native Spanish speakers. Because I love Spanish culture and food, I help Vamos organise cinema nights and cooking classes so maybe it is a good opportunity to see you all. I love teaching Spanish and I’m looking forward to seeing you in my class!

¡Hola! My name is Francisca and I come from Santiago, Chile. I hold degrees in Spanish Language and Literature and Teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, and I’ve been teaching Spanish since 2018. I love teaching Spanish and creating a comfortable environment where students feel confident to speak from day one. For me, learning a language is not just about grammar and vocabulary, but about connecting with people, cultures, and new ways of thinking. In my classes, you can expect games, dynamic activities, and plenty of real-life situations to help you use Spanish in a natural way. ¡Hola! I’m Lorena and I’m from Asturias, a beautiful mountainous region in the north of Spain. I studied Teaching at the University of Oviedo and completed a Master’s degree in the use of IT in the design and evaluation of educational processes at the University of Salamanca, however over the past years, I’ve been working as a primary school teacher in the UK, which has given me valuable experience in planning lessons and adapting my teaching to suit different students and learning needs. I love teaching Spanish because learning a new language allows you to explore and connect with other cultures and their people, and being part of that process with my students is something I find truly enriching. In my classes, I like to create a positive and respectful environment where students feel comfortable participating and sharing their progress with others. Learning Spanish is an exciting and rewarding journey and I’m here to guide and support you every step of the way!

I have taught Spanish for several years including with some international brands where I have also helped develop their Spanish curriculum in alignment with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). іHola! I am Maria from Jaén, a small city in southern Spain. I am a qualified teacher with a BA degree in English Language and Literature, a degree in Tourism and a Master’s degree in teaching. I have been teaching for many years including secondary schools in Spain and in London. Hello! My name is Nuria and I am from Barcelona, a beautiful and sunny city full of contrasts. I hold a degree in Translation and Interpretation, as well as a Master's degree in teaching Spanish as a second language. I’ve worked both as an English teacher for children and Spanish teacher for foreigners in Barcelona. I understand languages not only as a way to communicate but also as part of a society and its culture. Therefore, I am passionate about teaching both language skills and cultural traditions to ensure my students learn as if they were Spanish speakers. I believe the foundation of learning a language lies in amusement and motivation, which is why I design dynamic and stimulating lessons where my students feel supported and eager to interact with each other. I have worked in language institutes and French International Schools in Dubai and Hong Kong and I like my lessons to be interesting, fun and practical! ¡Hola a todos! My name is Vanessa and I'm from Galicia, in the North of Spain. I’m qualified as a Spanish teacher with Roehampton University and Instituto Cervantes in London and I've been teaching Spanish in the UK for more than five years now. I’m passionate about languages and communication, so teaching my mother tongue is delightful. And being surrounded by students from all over the world and taking part in their progress is really gratifying too. My interest in Spanish and South-American cultural life and current affairs are supported by a background in Journalism and Art, which means culture and news are often included in my lessons.
