Individual Research Projects (Year 13)

How successful is the Spanish high speed train network? An economic and environmental analysis

 

The Individual research project (IRP) is one element of the speaking components in the Year 13 exam where students must choose a subject or a key question which interests them with topics such as:

  • politics, sport, the fashion industry, a historical event or building, immigration, a political figure, musical performer, the computer games industry in the target language country, a region, gastronomy, and a specific major news event, but other topics can include:
  • fields of art, the environment and climate change, the media, voluntary organisations, economic issues such as employment or poverty, education, science and technology, multiculturalism, law and order, health policies, agriculture, lifestyle changes, energy policy, migration, the role of the EU, housing and tourism.
