Russell Collins
Director and Founder, Vamos for Schools

I’ve always believed that learning a language should be both academically rigorous and genuinely enjoyable. Students achieve more when they’re challenged, supported and inspired to enjoy the learning process.

That belief led me to establish Vamos in 2011, and it has remained at the heart of everything we’ve done ever since.

Over the past fifteen years, more than 18,000 students have learnt Spanish with Vamos through structured programmes taught by experienced native teachers, supported by carefully developed learning materials.

As Vamos developed, it became increasingly clear that our experience could be useful beyond our own classrooms

While we remain just as committed to helping individual students succeed, we also recognised the challenges many schools face in providing high-quality Spanish education. Specialist teachers, timetabling and resources can all make it difficult to build and sustain successful language programmes.

That’s why alongside our curriculum, we developed an online learning platform that supports both teachers and learners by managing homework, tracking progress and providing parents and schools with greater visibility of each student’s learning journey.

That understanding became the foundation of Vamos for Schools.

Today, much of my focus is on preparing Vamos for Schools for its next stage of development by building long-term relationships with schools, education consultants and carefully selected partners who share our commitment to educational quality. Together, we’re creating a model that gives more schools the confidence, support and flexibility to strengthen their Spanish provision.

We’re continuing to invest in our curriculum, teaching resources and learning technology, ensuring that we’re well prepared to support schools as new opportunities emerge and their needs continue to evolve.

I’ve always believed that learning another language offers far more than a qualification. It builds confidence, broadens horizons and creates opportunities that can last a lifetime. Helping more schools make those opportunities available to their students has become the natural next step in the Vamos journey.

Looking ahead, my ambition isn’t simply to grow Vamos for Schools. It’s to build a trusted community of schools and educational partners who share a common belief: that every young person should have the opportunity to experience an outstanding Spanish education.

I believe the strongest educational partnerships are built on shared values, mutual trust and a long-term commitment to quality.

If that’s the kind of partnership you’re looking for, I would be delighted to begin a conversation.
