We have talked about Spanish language shows that you should totally watch if you can (and it’ll help you with your Spanish for sure), but how about shows that you can effortlessly enjoy in English and still get to experience the culture?
There’s very few actual good Latin shows in English, but it’s worth to mention them. My favorite is Jane the Virgin, this series is one of the funniest and craziest shows out there, but the reason I love it is that it’s such good Latino representation.
Another great one is One Day at a Time; you watch in English (with some Spanish expressions in the mix) and you get to feel what Latin culture is.
Family is a big theme in both of these, and it reflects perfectly what Latino culture is all about. We have HUGE extended families, we are very close, holidays are big parties, and everyone is loud, so watching these shows feels like home.
