Your school years are coming to an end and a gap year traveling in Latin America would be an incredible experience, right? How do you sell it as a good trip? Well, let’s look at another wonder of the world that you can find here: Machu Picchu in Peru.
This incredible place is located at the top of a mountain in the middle of a tropical forest, and it’s the most amazing architectural construction of the Inca Empire. There are temples, palaces, terraces, tunnels, and a lot of structures that showcase the talents of pre-Hispanic cultures.
Due to its peculiar location, there are different theories about what this was supposed to be. A place of residence? A link to the Peruvian Amazon? A place of cultivation? We don’t know for sure and that adds to the mysticism of it all, but I am sure the people there will have a lot more to share!
