In our mariachi blog we talked briefly about Luis Miguel (“Luismi”), but that was not enough to cover just how iconic this man is. He is one of the bestselling Latin artists ever, having sold out arenas time and time again throughout his career, it’s no wonder even Netflix made a series about his life.
Let’s do a quick summary of how Luis Miguel came to be so popular, he started his singing career at 11 years old when he performed at the wedding of the Mexican president’s daughter and won a grammy at 14 (youngest ever for a male singer!) and ever since, he’s won multiple awards, sold millions of albums, and toured the world.
He is undoubtedly one of the best musicians out there, he rose to fame singing ballads in the era of pop and he didn’t try to crossover to American audiences, he favored Spanish music and still remained the best-selling artist of his time (and even now). He continues to be so big that his upcoming tour is completely sold out, all the tickets were gone in minutes!
